Melany Dela Cruz-Viesca is the Assistant Director of the Asian Pacific American Community Development Data Center (APACDDC) at UCLA. APACDDC was established to serve the census data needs of National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development members and other Asian and Pacific Islander community development corporations, community-based organizations, and nonprofits doing work in the field of housing and community/economic development. Ms. Cruz has provided training and technical support on gathering and using census data; developed fact sheets and reports on Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander subpopulation group census data; and produced specialized reports, data, or mapping services to meet the specific needs of community-based organizations.

She holds a master's in Urban Planning from UCLA and a bachelor's in Ethnic Studies and Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California at San Diego.
